nah, even though I'd like to say it, my guesses is that it'll be out sooner or later (more inclined to the latter)

This is the main difference. DNF still had info coming out so I hear ("fake" gameplay videos for one). Anet doesn't "hyperhype" the game - the players and community does.

Which is what GW's devs are saying too.
Anet never said it's coming out soon.

Anet and NCSoft has no reason to shut down. You've waited two years, once Aion gets out we'll have our information. Earliest is PAX, latest is holidays. Just freaking wait and enough of the damned vaporware.

These two are /winthread

Enough damn vaporware. If you think it is, WHO CARES? If you think it is, GO PLAY ANOTHER GAME AND STOP COMPLAINING. NO ONE IS FORCING YOU TO STAY.

(had it in caps to get the point through >_>)

How many GW2=DNF threads are really needed? Maybe this one could be stickied as monument to all the stupid speculation on this topic. For those new to gaming, DNF is rather unique in gaming history. But delays in releasing games is not unusual at all, nor is developers playing it close to the vest early in the development phase.

Duke Nukem Forever is back in progress by the way.

Also, it's guild wars and anet we're talking about. Jesus christ, just give them a few years. They may be lazy and relaxed with development, but I mean Guild Wars 2 is ONLY a game with THOUSAAAAAANDS of hours of gameplay. Jesus, just be patient. They'll get the job done.. Eventually<_<

People should realize that developing a good MMO takes time.

Here's the thing!

It does not matter one tiny bit if Guild Wars 2 is compared to Duke Nukem. It does not harm ArenaNets reputation one bit.

Being accused of being in charge of a vaporware product is only an issue if it really is vaporware. You can make the whole issue go away instantly by releasing media, when you are ready to.

If anything, it's a good thing. It means it is more of a surprise when content is released, so it will probably get better coverage from news sites.

TLDR stop being silly.

A good game takes time, MMOs especially, i'm not keeping track of GW2 like the rest of you but c'mon it hasn't been too long has it?

When was it announced, 2ish years ago?

If so, expect to wait 5.

Any company who can produce a GW-quality mmo in only 2 years are gods. Nuff' said.

I'm guessing it's been in development for 3 years. But, yes, MMO's don't come overnight.

well Duke Nukem Forever will never come out where GW will do and i'm pretty sure we have people working on it. You don't want a rushed game so just give it some time. How did this threa make to another page..

Unfortunately, it really is vaporware. This doesn't mean this label can't be reversed and forgotten tomorrow or at any point, but it is an apt description at this phase in the game's lifecycle. 'Vaporware' does not mean that the game is a hoax or anything, people just get freaked out by the negative connotation.

But your overall point is well-taken.

Why would a comparison like this even cross your mind. Don't you read the tidbits of info. It will come. They will build it and it will come.

Why is it it the younger you are the more impatient you seem? Shouldn't it be the other away around?

It's funny because Duke Nukem Forever was vaporware, but now it'll never come out!

Hahahahahahahahah!

No.
